FY2025 Safety Month: Commitment to Process Safety and a Smoke-Free OMS
OMS kicked off FY2025 Safety Month on 12 January 2026, with the official opening by CEO Mr. How Meng Hock. In his opening address, he reaffirmed the importance of process safety and encouraged everyone to play their part in creating a safe, healthy, and smoke-free workplace.
Throughout January, employees across all OMS locations participated in a range of activities designed to strengthen safety awareness and reinforce good workplace practices. These included a Phosphate & Lifting Process Safety Demonstration, Quiz Awareness Training and Team Building Activities, and a Video Contest on Safe Phosphating Processes and Lifting Operations. Employees also attended training sessions covering machine safety, process control, ventilation systems, lifting equipment, and emergency preparedness.
The final week of the programme focused on promoting a Smoke-Free OMS, raising awareness of the benefits of a smoke-free workplace and encouraging healthier lifestyle choices.
The strong participation and engagement throughout the month reflected OMS’s shared commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and making safety a part of everyday work.
